Highlights from Our Successful Clothes Swap Party with IALF Sesetan Bali!
On September 15, 2024, we celebrated a fantastic Clothes Swap Party in collaboration with IALF Sesetan Bali. The event was a vibrant gathering of community members united by a shared commitment to sustainable fashion and environmental responsibility. We’re thrilled to share the highlights, the significant impact we made, and the inspiring stories from our participants.
Event Overview
Our Clothes Swap Party was a great success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of everyone involved! Here’s a quick recap of the event:
- 75 participants, along with 10 dedicated volunteers, joined us to swap and refresh their wardrobes.
- 282 curated clothing items passed our quality check, ensuring high standards for the swap.
- 270 clothing found new homes, extending their life cycles with new owners.
- 626 clothing items were collected for donation, making a meaningful impact on those in need.
Community Impact
The Clothes Swap Party at the IALF Sustainability Festival made a significant impact on our community and the environment. With 75 participants, the event highlighted how collective action can drive sustainable fashion. Out of 282 curated items, 270 found new homes, reducing the need for new clothing and lowering the overall environmental footprint.
Our commitment to sustainability was further demonstrated through our partnerships with organizations dedicated to waste management and social impact. We collaborated with partners and in the process of the pilot project to ensure that 626 donated items will be effectively managed. We’re also thrilled to announce our newest collaboration with Parong.Pong, an Indonesian waste material lab.
Parong.Pong transforms waste into innovative furniture, showcasing the potential of repurposing materials in creative and impactful ways. This partnership underscores our dedication to not just managing waste, but turning it into something valuable and sustainable.
Participant and Volunteer Stories
We’re thrilled to share some of the wonderful feedback we received from our Clothes Swap Party participants and volunteers. Their experiences truly capture the spirit of the event:
Dela shared, “Hi, I’m Dela—today I joined the Clothes Swap Party, and it was so much fun! It’s a great solution for those with lots of clothes and no idea what to do with them. I’m already looking forward to the next event!”
Tami expressed her excitement, saying, “Hi, I’m Tami—I’m really happy with the event! From the start, we had convenient parking and shuttle services, and the registration system was smooth. We even received tokens as currency for the swap, which was such a cool touch. Can’t wait for more events like this!”
Ryan shared his experience, “Hi, I’m Ryan— I attended because the event was unique and intriguing. Swapping old clothes for new ones was a refreshing experience, and the atmosphere was lively from the beginning. I swapped four items today. This event is highly recommended, especially for those with many clothes at home. Instead of throwing them away and adding to waste, it’s better to join a Clothes Swap Party like this.”
Cempaka, one of our dedicated volunteers, said, “Hi, I’m Cempaka—today, I volunteered at the Clothes Swap Party by TRI Cycle. I’m thrilled to have gained new experiences and saw so many clothes finding new homes. I’m so happy to be part of promoting sustainability and also conscious consumption!”
